What is Monteverde Cloud Forest?

The Monteverde Cloud Forest is a pristine area located just outside of a small town called Santa Elana, about a four hour drive from the Central Valley of Costa Rica, Known for its eco-tourism, the area is perhaps best known for the Reserva Biológica Bosque Nuboso Monteverde and numerous other reserves, which attract tourists and naturalists interested in its immense tropical biodiversity.

In Newsweek's Top100 Places to Remember Before They Disappear, Monteverde appears as the Americas' #14. It has also been deemed one of the Seven Wonders of Costa Rica by popular vote, and has been called by National Geographic "the jewel in the crown of cloud forest reserves" - Wikipedia

This reserve protects 6 different wildlife communities on both the Caribbean and Pacific slopes.
